Tom Mertens combines a background in IT, data and analytics with experience in strategy and business transformation. He currently works at Gebroeders Doms as a strategic consultant specialising in data, AI and digital operations, where he helps industrial clients translate complex operational challenges into data-driven decisions. As part of an ongoing simulation project, he is bringing together production, warehouse and planning data to analyse capacity, bottlenecks and future scenarios. His guiding principle is to link industrial automation with digital automation and AI to enable better decision-making.
