Intussen een vaste waarde op elke laatste donderdag van de maand. Maar achter de schermen gaat daar heel wat aan vooraf. We gingen eerst langs bij de bakker om koffiekoeken op te halen. Daarna werd de tafel klaargezet. Vervolgens kwamen de eerste deelnemers binnen en kon de sessie starten. De hittegolf vraagt om wat extra verkoeling. Maar eigenlijk tonen ze perfect wat orchestratie in data is.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49e99908 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"49e99908\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Wat is orchestratie?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23d0064 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"23d0064\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p dir=\"auto\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Orchestratie betekent dat je verschillende taken organiseert en aanstuurt zodat alles op het juiste moment gebeurt, in de juiste volgorde. Niet zomaar een lijstje van taken dus. Want sommige stappen kunnen pas starten als andere klaar zijn.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\">De ontbijtsessie begon bijvoorbeeld niet met deelnemers aan tafel.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\">Eerst moest:<\/p><ul><li dir=\"auto\">iemand de deelnemers uitnodigen<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">de bakker de koffiekoeken klaar hebben<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">iemand de koffiekoeken ophalen<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">de tafel worden klaargezet<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">alles beschikbaar zijn<\/li><\/ul><p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p><p dir=\"auto\">Pas daarna kon de sessie echt starten.<br \/>In een dataomgeving werkt dat net hetzelfde. Voor je een dashboard toont, moeten bijvoorbeeld eerst:<\/p><ul><li dir=\"auto\">gegevens worden opgehaald<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">datasets worden verwerkt<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">controles worden uitgevoerd<\/li><li dir=\"auto\">tabellen worden bijgewerkt<\/li><\/ul><p dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25628380 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"25628380\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Waarom orchestratie belangrijk is <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7ce7b3d2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7ce7b3d2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Stel dat iedereen al binnenkomt terwijl wij nog bij de bakker staan. Dan krijg je een nogal vreemde ontbijtsessie. De koffiekoeken zijn er niet, de tafel is nog leeg en iedereen zit te wachten.\nIn data kan hetzelfde gebeuren. Als een rapport vernieuwt voordat de onderliggende data verwerkt is, krijg je foutieve cijfers. Als een stap faalt en niemand merkt het, loopt een volledig proces verder op onbetrouwbare data.\nNet als een dirigent zorgt orchestratie ervoor dat processen niet alleen uitgevoerd worden, maar ook op het juiste moment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34edb7d9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"34edb7d9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">De kracht van gebeurtenissen<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ae239aa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ae239aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Niemand had op voorhand gepland dat om 9u12 het water gecontroleerd moest worden. Er gebeurde gewoon iets. Iemand zag dat het water bijna op was en dat werd een signaal. Een trigger die een actie in gang zet.\nIn moderne data-platformen gebeurt dit voortdurend. Een bestand komt binnen en de verwerking start. Een dataset is klaar en het dashboard wordt ge\u00fcpdatet. Een fout treedt op en er wordt een waarschuwing gestuurd. Niet alles moet wachten op een vast tijdstip. Soms wil je reageren op wat er gebeurt (dit heet ook wel \u201cevent-driven\u201d, gestuurd door evenementen die op willekeurige momenten plaatsvinden).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d74fd6c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3d74fd6c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Wat gebeurt er achter de schermen? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5857b5b7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5857b5b7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Tot nu toe hebben we het uitgelegd met koffiekoeken en water. Maar hoe werkt dat in een dataomgeving?\nHier komt een orchestrator zoals <a href=\"https:\/\/dagster.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dagster<\/a> in beeld. Dagster bepaalt niet alleen welke taken uitgevoerd moeten worden, het weet ook welke stappen afhankelijk zijn van elkaar, wanneer iets mag starten, wat er gebeurt als iets mislukt, welke gebeurtenissen een proces moeten activeren,\u2026\nIn onze ontbijtmetafoor zou bijvoorbeeld Dagster (of ook Perfect of Airflow) zeggen: \u201cDe sessie mag pas starten als we terug zijn van de bakker en de tafel klaarstaat\u201d en vervolgens: \u201cWaarschuwing: het water is bijna op. Start proces: water bijvullen.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-59a552e4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"59a552e4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Conclusie<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b579697 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b579697\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p dir=\"auto\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Een succesvolle ontbijtsessie lijkt eenvoudig. Maar achter de schermen gebeurt verrassend veel.
